Arquitectum presenta su 8º Concurso Internacional “LONDON 2008″,  patrocinado por la Architectural Association de Londres. El reto consiste en diseñar una galería móvil de Arquitectura que viajará a lo largo del Río Támesis, conectando espacios y recolectando visitantes a lo largo de su recorrido. Este contenedor deberá ser lo suficientemente versátil como para albergar múltiples funciones mediante mutaciones simples en su estructura. El espacio de exhibición deberá adaptarse a los requerimientos de la exhibición y del artista, al movimiento del río, así como al clima londinense, con sus exigencias de verano e invierno.

Jurado: Miembros de la Architectural Association y reconocidos arquitectos londinenses.

Las propuestas se entregarán:

Le Carré Bleu, a French magazine established in 1958 by the CIAM Group of Helsinki, resumed publication early in 2006 with the editing and publishing services of IN/ARCH.

The magazine has announced the second International call for ideas/an idea for each city competition to select urban, landscape and architectural design proposals focusing on the relationship between built and ¿unbuilt¿ space, the logic of urban integration and relationships between spaces and multi-ethnic societies.
The 2007/08 edition, sponsored by UNESCO and held in collaboration with IN/ARCH, focuses on the theme of the environment and sustainability with all their forms and possibilities.
The competition is open to students registered in at least the fourth year and recent graduates of faculties of architecture in the EU, Switzerland and the Mediterranean area.
The competition will conclude with the awarding of at least 3 prizes consisting of 6 months of paid job experience with a European architectural studio. Selected groups will also receive a free one-year subscription to "le Carré Bleu" and "L'Arca".
Registration is open until February 29 2008, and projects must be delivered by June 30 2008.

La Facultad de Diseño y Comunicación de la Universidad de Palermo y la empresa Manifesto organizan en forma anual el concurso Diseño de Mobiliario. Esta iniciativa se suma al estímulo de la creatividad latinoamericana para diferentes productos del campo del diseño.

En esta primera edición 2007-2008 se convoca al concurso “La nueva silla latina”.

Bases y Condiciones
Este certamen se desarrolla en el marco del Encuentro Latinoamericano de Diseño y se propone difundir y premiar las mejores propuestas de los diseñadores del continente con el objetivo de promover la vinculación de estos con el mercado, a través de la producción y comercialización, por parte de la empresa Manifesto, de algunos de los trabajos premiados. Estas sillas formarán parte de la línea “Diseño de Autor” de Manifesto y llevarán el nombre del autor.

TEMATICA
Se convoca al diseño de una silla cuyos materiales predominantes a ser empleados son madera y/o metal (puede ser o no tapizada).
Las sillas deben estar proyectadas para uno de los siguientes usos: Residencial o Comercial (gastronomía, hotelería, espacios culturales y otros similares)

Open international ideas competition

Take part from the start in the open international ideas competition launched by the City of Copenhagen concerning Toftegård Square.

Toftegårds Plads Syd (Toftegård Square South) has remained largely unused for several years. In its current form it far from reflects the fact that it is one of the most important and most distinctive gateways to Copenhagen.

The City of Copenhagen has therefore decided to launch a competition to obtain ideas for the creation of a lively, human and vibrant urban space of high architectural quality.

Entrants in the competition may also include proposals for new buildings, various types of coverings and other structures in the square. The new square must be part of the ongoing development that will turn the southern part of the Valby district into one of the most interesting areas in Copenhagen.

The competition is open to everyone, and the City of Copenhagen looks forward to receiving many creative and effervescent proposals for the future use and design of the square.

The total prize sum is DKK 750,000, of which there will be one or more first prizes of at least DKK 150,000

Panini S.p.A., a Turin-based international company active in the payment system and imaging field, always attentive to developments in the fields of design and innovation, has organised "SHARE A NEW VISION", a contest to redesign the bank branch of the future. A contest open to designers, architects and creative artists from all over the world who are invited to rethink the interior of a bank in terms of innovation, interaction and multichanelling.
 

Organised as part of Torino 2008 World Design Capital, the aim of this contest is to provide an answer as regards needs for interaction, relationship and involvement that will be features of banks in the future.

THEME: ‘TRANSFORMING WITH WATER, THE WAY TO PARADISE?’

Throughout the world climate change is affecting the conditions of nature and local weather. Most people experience these changes as an imbalance between nature and the human environment. This IFLA student competition seeks to stimulate the discussion about the specific contribution of landscape and urban planning and design to realize a new balance between nature and the human environment.

THE COMPETITION IS OPEN TO ALL STUDENTS OF LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURE

Both individual and group submissions will be accepted, and each student or group is permitted only one entry. Broad interdisciplinary submissions are welcomed, however, a landscape architecture student must lead the team.

JURY AND JURY CRITERIA

The jury consists of three to five members from the IFLA and the dutch NVTL. The competition’s criteria are:Submission of project conform the assignment

• Clear presentation of the chosen problem

• Inspirational and innovating ideas

• Interesting planning and design

• Consistency of the designing process

AWARDS

The 1st place award of $3500 will be awarded by the landscape architecture firm HAN GROUP KOREA, the 2d place award (the Zvi Miller Prize) of $2500 by IFLA and the 3d place award of $1000 by the host association.

Living Steel is once again asking architects to take up the challenge to develop sustainable housing for the world's burgeoning housing shortage.  The 3rd International Architecture Competition presents architects with the task of creating energy efficient, single-family, detached housing that minimises climate change emissions and can withstand temperature extremes, yet is affordable to build and to buy. Architects entering an Expression of Interest must do so as a team of two architects to be eligible for short-list consideration. The winning architects will use the exceptional qualities of steel to construct their design in Cherepovets, Russian Federation, where temperatures can range from -49 C to +34 C.  The homes constructed from the winning designs will be part of a community for use by employees of Russian steel maker, SeverStal JSC, headquartered in Cherepovets
